Meet Alexsis
Founder, AMB Company LLC
Alexsis Blakely is a real estate entrepreneur with a focus on operations, due diligence, predevelopment, design and finance. Alexsis’ passion for community development stems from her upbringing as a resident of affordable housing in Spanish Harlem in New York City – a community with the highest concentration of public housing in the nation.
She co-founded Rosewood Strategies, an award-winning DC-based real estate development and advisory firm concentrating in multifamily housing and high-impact community projects serving established nonprofit organizations with their real estate needs. These projects include the development and financing of Community of Hope’s Family Health and Birth Center and DC Central Kitchen’s headquarters at the Michael R. Klein Center for Jobs & Justice, as well as the development of the first multifamily coliving project in the Ivy City neighborhood in northeast DC. Alexsis specializes in development management, financing, New Markets Tax Credit transactions, and owners’ representative services. Her active projects range between $24M - $1.5B.
Alexsis is the founding board member of Lotus Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides transitional housing to women who are survivors of intimate partner violence. She is an alum of Capital Impact Partners' Equitable Development Initiative and a fellow in the Amazon-funded Housing Equity Accelerator Fellowship (HEAF) program in DC.
Alexsis holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University, and is a proud alumna of The Hotchkiss School and the Prep for Prep 9 program.
